Programs and Services of Lake County
 

Lake County offers housing assistance programs to Lake County residents through the County's "SHIP" Program (State Housing Initiative Partnership).  The program has two components: a home purchase assistance section and a home repair section.  The home repair  program offers financial assistance, via deferred payment loans, to qualified persons of very low and low incomes. 

 

HOME PURCHASE ASSISTANCE
This program assists low-income households with the down payment and closing costs. Homes purchased may be existing or new construction. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a mortgage through a participating lender. The source of funding is through SHIP (State Housing Initiatives Partnership.) HOME REPAIR
This program helps low-income households finance repairs to their home. The house must be owner-occupied and be the primary residence. Mobile homes do not qualify.
