Message from the Chief
The Lady Lake Police Department is located at 423 Fennell Boulevard between the historical portion of our Town and the Villages. The department currently has an authorized strength of 28 full-time, sworn police officers and 16 civilian staff members.
The agency is broken down into two separate entities of police service to the community, Operations and Administration, both of which are headed by the Chief of Police.
The Field Operations Bureau includes the Uniform Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Traffic Unit (motorcycles), K-9 Team, Community Services, Animal Control and the Police Reserves.
This Bureau is comprised of a Lieutenant, four Sergeants, four Corporals, fourteen Officers, two Detectives and three civilian, non-sworn employees.
The Officers in the Patrol Division provide year-round, twenty-four hour/day coverage for our community. These officers patrol our streets, respond to calls for service, investigate traffic crashes, assist with medical emergency calls, follow-up on criminal complaints, provide traffic control and numerous other community related, crime prevention services. Our agency has two officers assigned to the Villages Town Square who provide police coverage on foot, bicycle, golf cart as well as patrol car.
Our Criminal Investigations Division consists of two detectives who investigate cases that, for temporal, expertise or logistical reasons, are impractical for our Patrol Officers to continue beyond the preliminary investigation.
The Administrative Services Bureau is comprised of a Lieutenant and a Sergeant who are responsible for the Records Unit, the Communications Center and all administrative support services.
Our Records Unit is responsible for accepting, storing and retrieving records and reports taken by our officers. Their duties also involve complying with public records requests and the retention and destruction of police records. This Unit is staffed by a Records Supervisor, two Record Assistants and volunteers whose responsibilities also include answering questions and providing reports to persons appearing in the LLPD Lobby. Other responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, overseeing our Town prescription drug disposal repository, fingerprinting applicants, preparing Uniform Crime Reports and statistical information pertaining to Hate Crimes, Juvenile Crimes and False Alarms.
The Communications Center is staffed by eight Communications Officers who are scheduled to enable 24-hour / day coverage. We are a primary Emergency 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point whose dispatchers not only answer 9-1-1 emergency lines, but also our non-emergency business line (352) 751-1565. They also operate the NCIC/FCIC computer that allows for our department to communicate on a local, state and national level.
The Primary goal of the Lady Lake Police Department is the prevention of crime, protection of life and property and the apprehension of criminal offenders. Our Department strives to provide the best possible police service to residents of Lady Lake and to those who work, travel, shop and visit in our Town.
For emergency assistance, dial 9-1-1. All other calls are to be made through (352) 751-1565.
