SOLID WASTE COLLECTION

TOWN OF LADY LAKE RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS

Definition of Solid Waste:  Includes household garbage, yard trash and bulk items.

Limit:  There is a 3 cubic yard limit for solid waste each collection day.  Amounts exceeding the 3 cubic yard limit will be picked up the next collection day, provided any additional amounts put out do not cause the daily limit to be exceeded.

Solid waste exceeding 3 cubic yards can be picked up for a fee.  You may order the special pickup by calling Waste Management at 787-4416.

Household garbage containers are issued by Waste Management.  Please contact Waste Management for a waste receptacle at 352-787-4416.

Do not use red colored bags, as this type bag is used for bio-hazardous medical waste only.

Recycling Containers can be picked up at the Lady Lake Public Works Complex.  Please call Lady Lake Public Works Department at 352-751-1526.

Cardboards boxes should be flattened and bundled and placed in or next to the Recycling Container.

Yard Trash is defined as grass clippings, leaves, shrubbery and tree cuttings, pine needles, palm fronds, etc.  Yard trash must be no more than 6 feet in length and no more than 6 inches in diameter and should be stacked neatly at the curb.  Leaves, grass clippings and pine needles must be bagged or containerized.  No bag or can should exceed the 40-pound weight limit.

Bulk items (i.e., furniture, carpeting, appliance, etc.) should be placed at the curb collection point.  Appliances require special pickup arrangements, which can be made by calling Waste Management at 787-4416.  Refrigerators and freezers should have the doors removed.

Hazardous wastes such as lawn or pool chemicals, tires, etc., WILL NOT be picked up.  For latex paint (water based) disposal, remove the lid, let any paint in the can dry, then place in a household garbage container.  Please call Lake County Solid Waste for hazardous waste disposal information at 352-343-3776.

Tires: Neither the Town nor Waste Management will accept tires for collection.  Residents must take the unwanted tires to a tire retailer for recycling.  There is a small disposal fee, state required.
