The Lady Lake
Police Department is located on 423 Fennell Boulevard in
between the historical section and The Villages. Our department
now has an authorized strength of 29 fulltime sworn officers and
14 civilian non-sworn staff members.
The agency has three types of
divisions of service to the community; Administration,
Operations and Support Services. The administrative Division is
comprised of the Office of the Chief.
The Operations Division includes;
Uniform Patrol, a Motorcycle/Traffic Enforcement Unit, K-9
Officer, School Resource Officer, Criminal Investigations, a
Victim Advocate and an Animal Control Unit. This division is
comprised of one Lieutenant, five Sergeants, four corporals and
sixteen officers who make up four shifts.
The officers in the
Patrol Division offer year-round twenty-four hour coverage for
our community. These officers patrol our roads, respond to calls
for service, investigate accidents, assist with medical
emergency calls, follow-up on criminal complaints and provide
traffic control. Our agency has two Village Officers who many
times patrol the Village area in a golf cart or by foot patrol.
The Lady Lake Police Department has
two Motorcycle Officers. These officers focus on traffic safety.
Our agency has a speed enforcement trailer that can be moved to
different location to determine speed patterns and the need for
enforcement.
The Criminal Investigations
Division is comprised of a Detective Sergeant and a Detective.
These officers investigate cases which cannot be solved by the
initial Patrol Officer.
An Administrative Lieutenant heads
up the Support Services Division which encompasses the Records
Department and Communications Center.
Our Records Department is
responsible for filing, storing and retrieving records reports
taken by out officers, as well as, complying with public records
request and the destruction of outdated records. Our agency has
a Records Supervisor and two Assistant positions that also
maintain our lobby and oversee the department's volunteers.
Additional duties of the department include; fingerprinting,
animal tag licensing, prepare the Uniform Crime Reports, Hate
Crime Reports and Juvenile Crime Reports. The Lady Lake Police
Department charges $20.00 for fingerprinting and requires a
valid drivers license or photo identification.
The Communications Center is
staffed by eight Communication's Officers who work ten hour
shifts. We are an Emergency 911 Call Center. Our Dispatchers
answer 911 emergency lines, as well as, the twenty-four police
department business line (352) 751-1565. Our Dispatchers are
trained to prioritize call so that critical information gets to
our officers in the field via radio communications. They also
operate the NCIC/FCIC computer which allows for our department
to communicate on a local, state and national level.
