Consideration of Continuation of Utilizing Option B of the Interlocal Agreement with Lake County for Collection of Storm Debris from Streets and Right of Ways
Staff Recommended Motion
Approval to notify Lake County staff to continue utilizing Option B of the Interlocal Agreement with Lake County for Collection of Storm Debris from Streets and Right of Ways.
As a part of the Interlocal Agreement with Lake County for collection of storm debris from streets and right of ways, the Town must notify Lake County staff by the end of May each year to continue utilizing option B of the agreement. Under Option A, the Town is solely responsible for all of its collection, monitoring, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursement activities. Under Option B, Lake County is the primary agent and is responsible for all of the previously mentioned services. Option B allows Town staff to immediately respond to storm damaged areas, while also allowing Lake County contractors to take over collection efforts if needed. Town staff is still in support of continuing to utilize Option B. The agreement was previously approved by Town Commission and the Town Attorney.
The Interlocal Agreement with Lake County was approved and executed in 2018.
