Staff Recommended Motion
Approval for Town staff to apply for the Lake County Water Authority Stormwater Treatment Grant for funding of a Stormwater Master Plan.
Summary
The Town’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Coordinator, Maryann Krisovitch, has prepared an application for the Lake County Water Authority Stormwater Treatment Grant for potential funding of a Stormwater Master Plan (SWMP). The SWMP will aid the Town in determining the priority in which water quality projects should move forward. This will also assist in compliance with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Total Maximum Daily Loading reductions in both the Ocklawaha and Silver Springs Basin Management Action Plans (BMAPs). Compliance with these BMAPs is enforced via the Town’s NPDES permit. This is a cost-sharing grant and the Town will be requesting the maximum amount of funding at 76% to 100% of the total cost. Costs are estimated at $65,000 for the Master Plan development. The Town’s portion of funding will be determined once grants are awarded and will be brought back to Town Commission for consideration if the Town is approved.
