Approval for the Lady Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lady Lake Parks and Recreation Department to form a partnership to program and run the Lady Lake Art-in-the-Park this spring.

Summary

The Town and the Lady Lake Area Chamber of Commerce have relied on outside arts and crafts programmers to assist in hosting the annual Art-in-the-Park every spring. In meeting with the Chamber, we have discussed the other shows that we compete with and the direction that we would like to take our event. In the attached emails, you will see the prices that Stetler Media was charging vendors and the revenue that the Chamber was making. Stetler Media has done a good job, but it appears that they are looking to sell the company and we would like to take over the event and charge a lower price and start hosting music and maybe even include antique vendors. We have seen strong shows like the one at the Blue Parrot R/V Resort go under while ours has remained, but we have seen our numbers go down over the years. Working with the Chamber, we could bring an addition to the show that a for-profit group would not necessarily be able to provide. This would be music performers that you will see in my budget proposal. We would have two salaried employees at the event for the entirety of the event. We would have two hourly employees at the event to assist us as needed. We are predicting the it will cost the Town $450.00 for police staff overtime, which is customary for this event, and around $350.00 for Parks and Recreation staff overtime.

Fiscal Impact

Estimated $800.00 for overtime
