Consideration of Approval to Purchase Replacement Surge Suppressors

Approval to purchase replacement electrical panel surge suppressors from contingency funds.

Summary

During an inspection of the Town Hall and Police Department facility electrical distribution systems, the Town’s electrical contractor discovered that eight of our electrical panel surge suppression devices have failed or have partially failed and need to be replaced.

These devices are intended to prevent electrical surges caused by lightning strikes or poor source power from damaging facility equipment.

Staff requests permission to direct our electrical contractor to replace these surge suppression devices at this time.
