Summary

At the March 2, 2020 Special Conceptual Town Commission Meeting, Mr. Jonathan Huels, in representation of the owners of a piece of property lying approximately 2,000 feet to the south of the 40.35 acre property ,made a presentation to the Town Commission seeking additional utility capacity from the Town of Lady Lake to service an 18.23 acre parcel lying west of Cherry Lake Road in Sumter County, Florida. At the conclusion of his presentation, two Commissioners indicated that they were not in favor of providing additional utility capacity beyond the County boundary. Two Commissioners were receptive to the idea of providing the utility, and the Mayor indicated that he would like additional evaluation before considering the proposal any further.

At this time, Mr. Greg Beliveau of LPG Urban and Regional Planners, Inc., has provided further analysis regarding the Town’s current allocations and projected water consumption against the current Consumptive Use Permit. Three scenarios have been provided in the study, and volumes have been derived based upon a high, medium, and low consumption model.

The prior staff report has been included in this packet detailing why Mr. Huels is approaching the Town for the request, and Mr. Beliveau’s report is also included for your consideration.
