Approval to Host the Lady Lake Easter Egg Hunt on March 27, 2021.

Summary

The Lady Lake Parks and Recreation Department would like to host its annual Lady Lake Easter Egg Hunt on March 27, 2021. The Lady Lake Kiwanis sponsors the event by purchasing the eggs which cost approximately $2,000.00. In the past, about 40 to 50 groups set up games for the event. Last year, nearly 50 groups signed up although there were mass cancellations when Covid 19 became an issue. Staff will attempt to sign up as many groups as possible and have them give out candy without setting up the games to avoid interaction that occurs in the long lines that form.

If not enough groups sign up, an Easter Egg Hunt at the playground may be planned instead. There will be no bounce houses as there is no way to enforce social distancing. A disc jockey is being lined up for this year. The goal is to make this as close to the original event as possible while keeping safety in mind. In the past, as many as 3,800 people attended this event.

Fiscal Impact

Approximately $1,000.00 for supplies and candy.
