Commission Meeting Agenda Item

The Parks and Recreation Department has had park patrons utilize the sports fields, the back of the Driving Range, and the sides of the Lady Lake Driving Range to hit golf balls. This causes damage to our facilities when the balls hit our buildings and equipment. The Driving Range has had after hours’ usage where patrons go out after hours and even during the night to collect golf balls, practice their game, or even hit their own golf balls onto the range. This practice has come to the point where we need an ordinance to contain the times and area where golf can be practiced. This ordinance began as a request from the Driving Range and has the support of the Parks and Recreation Department after numerous incidents. There have been no changes to the ordinance since first reading.
