Staff recommends approval of additions to the fall event schedule; to include a Kids Day at the Driving Range on August 28, 2021, a Movie Night at the Museum on November 13, 3021, and an Open House at the Community Building on September 18, 2021.

Summary

The Driving Range is asking for permission to host a Kids Day to be held on August 28, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event includes golf instruction, contests and food. The Parks and Recreation Department will work with the Lady Lake Historical Society to host our second Night at the Museum on November 13th. We are still working on setting the hours for the event. We will play the move “Night at the Museum II” and serve hot dogs and drinks as we did before. The museum will be open for the event. The Parks and Recreation Director will be working with the Chamber of Commerce on September 13, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to host a ribbon-cutting and Open House at the Community Building. Depending on how the current wave of the pandemic plays out, we are planning on serving finger foods.

Fiscal Impact

The Kids Day at the Driving Range will be no cost to the Town. Night at the Museum will cost approximately $1,200.00 for food, movie rights, and screen rental. Open House for the Community Building will cost approximately $250.00 if finger foods are served.
