Staff Recommended Motion
Staff recommends approval of the attached, recommended Abatement Order from the Town of Lady Lake Code Enforcement Special Magistrate dated March 22, 2022. The Town Commission reserves the right to approve, deny or modify the recommended Abatement Order.
Summary
The new owner, Amos Baptiste, of 811 Summit Avenue came into Town Hall to establish utility service and learned that the previous owner left an unpaid balance of $1284.77. The previous owner of the property died intestate and in 2018, Habitat for Humanity signed an agreement with the town to waive all fines related to the property upon transfer of the property to Habitat. Though signed, this agreement was never finalized. Until recently, the property was owned by Claudia Standridge under whose ownership it was sold at a tax deed sale. We have received from the Clerk of the Circuit Court a claim to receive surplus proceeds from that sale.
