Commission Meeting Agenda Item

At the February 16^th Workshop, the Commission discussed how to address fee exemptions in Ordinance 2023-01 for those organizations requesting use of the Community Building. The Commission consented to removing all references to individual groups to which exempt or partially exempt status is granted. Upon adoption of the ordinance, applications requesting exempt or partially exempt status must be presented to the Town Commission at a regularly scheduled meeting for them to decide if an organization provides a benefit to the community. The ordinance was changed so that busy rental days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) would be made available for full rate rentals only and for a minimum of four hours.

Ms. Sennello has been conducting meetings at the Community Building for over 42 years at a partially exempted rate and her group would like to continue meeting at the reduced rate. They provide a valuable service to those who reside in Lady Lake and to those in surrounding communities. Her group meets on Thursday evenings which is not a busy day for the Community Building. She would like her request to be considered contingent upon the adoption of Ordinance 2023-01.
