WHEREAS, September 17, 2023 marks the two hundred thirty-sixth anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; it has guided our growth, shaped our progress, and defined us as a Nation of sacred laws and fundamental values; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary; and to the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate the occasion; and

WHEREAS, on Constitution Day, September 17^th and Constitution Week September 17th — 23^rd, we celebrate our Constitution and rights of citizenship that together we enjoy as the people of this proud Nation; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Rietz, Mayor of the Town of Lady Lake, Florida, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17 - 23, 2023 as

Constitution Week

and ask our citizens to reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights may never be regained.
