Prescription Drug Disposal for Town Residents

Proper disposal of unwanted or expired medicine is important for preventing accidental ingestion by individuals as well as animals. Public wastewater facilities are not designed to remove pharmaceuticals and disposing of medications by flushing down the toilet or a sink drain contaminates water supplies and endangers aquatic life in lakes, rivers and streams.

Town of Lady Lake residents are able to turn in old prescription drugs at the Lady Lake Police Department in a drug safe located in the lobby of the police department.

Any town resident is permitted to drop off unwanted prescription drugs between the hours of 7:30 AM until 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday at the Lady Lake Police Department, 423 Fennell Boulevard.

This is a free service provided for all town residents.

Liquids, needles, or other sharp objects are not accepted.  Please consult with Lake County Hazardous Waste for instructions regarding proper disposal.
