The Town of Lady Lake will be joining cities across the state in celebrating Florida City Government Week from October 21-27, 2019.
Because city government is the government closest to most citizens, and the one with the most direct daily impact upon its residents, it is important that residents understand how their city operates, the services it provides, and the importance of their active involvement. The theme My City: I’m Part of It, I’m Proud of It will guide this year’s activities.
“We are excited about Florida City Government Week and hope to engage all our residents, our students, our senior citizens and our business community in our upcoming events. “This is an opportunity to help our residents become more informed about the many services we provide, which should lead to more knowledgeable citizen participation in the future.”
Florida City Government Week, sponsored by the Florida League of Cities, is a time to showcase cities and recognize the significant role played by the city government in the lives of its citizens. The League is the official organization of the municipal governments in Florida, designed and established to meet and serve the needs of Florida’s cities and their citizens.
We invite and encourage all residents to participate in the different activities listed below:
Monday, October 21, 2019, is a regular Town Commission Meeting where Mayor Jim Richards will read the proclamation claiming the week of Oct. 21-27, 2019 as Florida City Government Week. The meeting will begin at 6 P.M. at Town Hall Commission Chambers at 409 Fennell Blvd., Lady Lake.
Thursday, October 24, 2019, Cookies and Candy for every resident who visits Town Hall (409 Fennell Blvd., Lady Lake)
Saturday, October 26, 2019, the Town will have an information booth at the Not Too Scary Halloween Party. Staff will distribute buttons, bumper stickers, license plates, pens and of course candy.
This is our Town, this is your Town, this is My Town: I’m Part of It, I’m Proud of It! Come join the Celebration!
