Celebrate September as Library Card Sign-up Month and win a prize

The Lady Lake Public Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month in September and is offering
prizes for participants. This nationwide initiative encourages patrons to discover the joy of reading, access a world of knowledge, and embark on exciting adventures by signing up for a library card. To recognize the month, the Library is offering an opportunity to win a $25 Amazon gift card for new cardholders.

“A library card is more than just a piece of plastic; it’s a ticket to a universe of imagination, exploration, and learning,” said Lady Lake Library Director Aly Herman. “From bestsellers and classic novels to databases of online learning, the Lady Lake Public Library provides an array of materials, events and experiences for all age groups in our community.”

During the month of September, anyone who signs up for a library card at the Lady Lake Public Library
will automatically be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card. The process of obtaining a library card is simple, quick and free for Lake County residents. Residents Marion County can also sign up for free due to a reciprocal borrowing agreement. Sumter County residents can obtain a card for just $20 for six 6 months or $40 for a year for two household members. Interested individuals should visit the Lady Lake Public Library at 225 W. Guava St. during regular business hours.

Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been in September, toward the beginning of the school year.
Libraries unite with the goal of every child having their own library card. According to the American Library Association, librarians and library staff assist parents and caregivers save hundreds of dollars on educational resources for students each year.
