1. Conceptual Presentation of the Architectural Detailed Elevations for the Lighthouse Storage — New Major Site Plan MJSP 06/21-001 ― A Proposal to Develop a Storage Facility Consisting of an 800-Square-Foot Office, 77,850 Square Feet of Mini-Warehouses Storage, and 181 Covered Parking Stalls for RV and Boat Storage; on Property Located at 41101 and 41109 County Road 25, Referenced by Alternate Key Numbers 1237718 And 1237734; within Lake County, Florida (Thad Carroll)
Growth Management Director Thad Carroll presented the background summary for this agenda item (on file in the Clerk’s Office). As part of the review of the Land Development Regulations for the Lighthouse Storage new major site plan, it was identified certain elements of the Commercial Design Standard were not being met. He stated that the applicant is present if there are any questions.
Mayor Kussard asked if there were any questions or comments from the Commissioners.
Commissioner Hannan stated he hoped there would be a lot more foliage between CR 25 and this whole development.
Applicant Steve Valentine replied there will be extensive vegetation near the road.
Mr. Carroll pointed out that there will also be a landscaping buffer by the road, with vinyl fencing on the, south, west, and north sides of the property. It will be between the Lakes of Lady Lake neighborhood.
It was the consensus of the Commissioners for this proposal to move forward with the three waivers as presented, by a vote of 5 to 0.
D. Public Comments
Mayor Kussard asked if anyone in the audience had any comments.
Phil Mathias of Lakes of Lady Lake stated the county has been surveying along CR 25 and has put up stakes further back from CR 25 as well. He asked the developer if they were going to lose a lot of vegetation because of this.
Mr. Valentine replied that the county has the right of way on CR 25, and there are plans for other future development on CR 25; the surveying is not all for this particular development. He noted the vegetation on their parcel will remain.
E. Adjourn
