Commissioner Ruth Kussard, Ward One
Commissioner Kussard is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has resided in the Village of La Reynalda in Lady Lake since 1998. She is a retired administrative assistant and was first elected to the Town Commission in 2008. She has served ward one continuously since that time. She has previously served as Mayor, being nominated by her fellow Commissioners three times. Her current two-year term will expire in November 2021.
Commissioner Kussard’s faith, family and community are most important to her. “When the people in your community elect you to office, they expect you to represent them. My door will always be open to my constituents and I will try to help them any way I can.”
Commissioner Kussard currently serves as a liaison to the Library Advisory Board and the School Facilities Steering Committee. She is an alternate representative for the Metropolitan Planning Organization Bicycle and the Pedestrian Committee (BPAC).
