Trash and Recycling

Solid Waste Collection

Solid waste includes household garbage, yard trash, and bulk items. The Town contracts with Waste Management for residential and commercial solid waste collection. If you had a missed trash collection, would like to schedule a bulk pickup, or have a question about holiday schedules, call Waste Management at 352-787-4416.

Bulk Pickup

Bulk pickup is scheduled through Waste Management. You can schedule a bulky pickup by logging in to your My WM profile and using the Bulk Item Pickup link from the My Services page.

Some common household bulk items include:

  • Mattresses & Box Springs
  • Bed Frames
  • Cabinets
  • Sofa & Furniture Items
  • Other items too large to fit into your regular service container

Holiday Collection

Waste Management posts holiday service alerts and trash collection changes on its website.

Holidays may affect your regular pickup schedules. If your service day falls on or after a WM-observed holiday, your pickup may occur prior to your regularly scheduled service day or it may be delayed. For the latest updates on holiday schedule changes, log in to your WM account and enroll in email or text alerts.

Holiday schedules are typically available 14 days prior to the holiday. If your next pickup falls on a holiday, please check for a possible change to your service day or time:

  1. Log in to your My WM profile
  2. Upcoming WM-observed holidays will appear on your main dashboard up to 14 days in advance

Hazardous Waste

Lawn or pool chemicals, tires, etc. will not be picked up. For latex (water based) paint disposal, remove the lid, let any paint in the can dry, then place in a household garbage container. Please contact Lake County Solid Waste for hazardous waste disposal information.

Household Garbage Containers

Trash containers are issued by Waste Management. Please contact them to request a receptacle. Do not use red colored bags. These are reserved for bio-hazardous medical waste only.

Pick-Up Schedule

For the Water Oak Subdivision, Griffin Avenue, and the Lakes of Lady Lake, residential garbage and yard trash pick-up is on Tuesday and Friday.

For all other Lady Lake residents, garbage and yard trash pick-up is on Monday and Thursday.

Household garbage, bulk items and yard waste must be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Garbage containers shall be removed from the curb at the end of the day.
